Hi everyone!

For those of you who are familiar with me, you will know that I 'change' often!

one of my logos-free to be!

I change my background, (on my sites, that is), I change my format, I change my hang tags and my logos, I change my doll designs, I join networking sites, I leave networking sites, I joined Etsy- me and Etsy didn't work out. Not because of anything Etsy did, mind you, it was strictly a matter of me not having the time or the energy to put my all into another online site. So, I changed my mind! No Etsy.

I tried Ebay for one listing. The effort I put into that I could have come up with a year's worth of new doll designs or made a half dozen quilts or learned to 'tat'!

Once I got over the Ebay/Etsy challenge and found I lost the battle, I picked up a paint brush and tried something new- again! I began painting T-shirts, opened up my Zazzle store, found out I did not 'choose wisely' in naming my Zazzle store, so I opened up a second Zazzle store so I could have an actual 'name' that sounds like it could be interesting. SowGoodGreta is sooo much more fun than greta_56, don't you agree? Now my only dilemma was I have all these really cool items in my greta_56 store so I want to keep this one! Even if the name is plain! Yes. I'm keeping it. Two is better than one anyways!

One might not think uploading a photo to Zazzle is a big deal, but there is so much more than you know! Unless, of course, you are a Zazzler, which there does seem to be an awful lot of us out there!! Being a Zazzler is a whole new art form. And a very rewarding one at that! If one has the patience to persevere! I love Zazzle!

Exciting news here at Sew Be It! Laurie, my sister from 'Behind the Seams', a quaint little business out in the Winchendon woods, went on a little shopping excursion where we found oodles of yummy things to make new dolls with! A new line of collectible treasures will soon be appearing before our very eyes! I am inspired and revving up my sewing machine! Good things are a'happenin'!!

Other changes include the deletion of my Etsy online retail store. I am but one person who has realized I can't do everything, nor do I want to!!! My Zazzle shops will continue as I do so love creating on Zazzle. I've purchased several items for myself and I am very satisfied with the quality of their work. I will be creating new designs there as my time permits.

There you have it! We are updated! I'm considering bringing back my Facebook Fan page but as of yet am undecided on that one. Since my WIX website now offers fan pages through their service, maybe I can make it better than before. We'll see!

We've got a message to share and it is best expressed though our creative hands. Be it the flick of a paintbrush,or the click of a camera, we've got somethin' to say!!

Back in June, hmmmm....I was about to say I 'stumbled across'...but that isn't true at all! I was led by divine providence- yes, DIVINE, as in GOD Himself, to a place where I have been received, nurtured, encouraged, motivated, exposed, uplifted, appreciated, blessed, stretched, educated, and lots more adjectives that may take the whole page to fill should I continue to list them! So, it's definitely an understatement to say I stumbled into anything as God Almighty always has His strong hand directing my steps. Thank you God! Without YOU, where would I be?

I want to share with you what I received from the Lord Jesus this morning as I was seeking His help on matters of the Spirit and the flesh.

While clothing myself with His armor this morning, I came to the shoes- the last thing to complete my battle gear. I like to call these shoes my 'good news shoes'. We all know 'the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak'- well Holy Spirit has been convicting me of certain things that are not acceptable and pleasing to Him, I have been trying to overcome these issues and feeling somewhat under attack and falling into self condemnation. I know the TRUTH, but for some reason was not grasping it. I am continually reminded I can do NOTHING of myself, it's all in Him and yet, this weak flesh of mine tries to insist I can do it MYSELF. Liar!! I can't do anything myself! I need Jesus to do it all! So here is my revelation from the lover of my soul today as I was whining about my good news shoes:

'Sometimes they hurt and pinch my feet and cause me to not want to go on. The blisters swell and cause me to limp and hold back. But for grace! You, Jesus, call my name and remind me, your yoke is easy, your burden is light! You call me to yourself and untie my shoes and wash my feet. I am humbled, sweet Jesus, that you would do such a thing. You tenderly rub your healing balm into the sore places and the healing begins. The blisters of pride and condemnation are smoothed away. I 'soak' in your presence, my feet soaked in your own foot soak with your anointed oils washing over me in the cleansing water. Dear Jesus, I adore you and thank you and am most humbled by your grace and love for me! Those blisters caused by my own wrong beliefs and judgment for my fellow man are cleansed and healed by your touch. I love you God and receive my orders for today. You have prepared me, prepared this day for me to WALK in - not to be lazy, nursing my swollen and bruised feet. You have cleansed me and washed me, healed me and delivered me. I delight to do your will God! Thank you for healing those painful blisters and removing the callouses- the hardness of heart. I receive your loving kindness and now go to give it away, walking and leaping for joy in your grace and mercy, forgiveness and love. Blessed are you, Most High God! Thank you! Thank you! I can do ALL things through Christ- HE came to serve, He's called me to serve. Oh, Lamb of God, I come! Here I am, send me! IN you, I can!

*Back yard foot soaks are common summer pastimes at my house. The 'girls' of every age gather together and enjoy a little pampering of the feet. Most of us totally gross out when it comes to 'touching' someone else's feet, even after they are clean and smell beautiful! This revelation was especially meaningful and personal to me as I happen to BE one of those grossed out girls! It truly is a humbling experience, one that Jesus did for His disciples. And then He said 'go and do likewise!' I can do ALL things through Christ!! Anyone need a footwashing?

T'is so sweet to trust in Jesus! Here is one of my love letters to Him- I pray it encourages you and His glory shines through- His love is the same for all of us! He has no favorites, but if He did, I think it would be YOU!

Hi Jesus! I'm so in love with you! You wake me in the morning with a sweet kiss upon my face. You touch my lips with your words and I begin my day anew. Having been prepared for this day by your breath of life during the night time while I was sleeping, you minister deep things to my spirit.My soul rests in you oh Lord! You are my comfort and my peace.In you there is no shadow of turning- you are the same forevermore, always and forever! You love me with an everlasting love- you have prepared for me a banquet in the very presence of my enemies! You hem me in, behind and before, I am blanketed in your love, I praise your wonderful name! Holy are you Lord God, Most High God! You amaze me and I long for you, when I am hungry, you feed me, thirsty, you fill my cup. I'm soooo hungry for you Jesus! Soooo thirsty! Only you can satisfy my longings. I am your beautiful bride and I am being made ready for you, my bridegroom! You are making me beautiful as you are. You are the Highest, you are jealous for me as a bridegroom would be! I will not stray from you my sweet Savior! You have saved me from the stain of guilt and sin and you have restored me to righteousness and I come before you with a new song in my heart!

Go and Tell
To quote the words of a really fun Sunday School song, I give you the reason for this particular blog title:
"Ah-oop! Jesus said, Ah-oop! Go and tell, ah-oop! Jesus said, Go and tell the good news!"
What joy it brought to become as one of these little ones, bumping hips as we sang the ah-oops with love and laughter in my hometown little church building! Being a child of the king, this catchy little tune continues to rise up inside of me and remind me of the great commission- "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) It is for this purpose I now write.
First, a little testimony about myself...
To put it in a nutshell, I once was lost but now am found! In my growing up years, I was a shy little girl, filled with many fears. I always seemed to have the proverbial 'knot in my stomach' and had sooo many wrong ideas about who I was and why I am here. That's the lost part. Like most people, I tried many routes of escape but to no avail. These destructive paths only served to help the hole I was digging for myself get even deeper. I eventually came to know Jesus, the person, which by the way didn't actually occur until I was nearly half a century young! I knew all about church and Sunday school and grace before meals and bible studies and the Ten Commandments, not so much The Holy Bible except for the usual stories like Christmas and Easter and Noah and the ark. I said the Sinner's Prayer at a Billy Graham crusade in 1984 and began taking bible studies and church attendance more seriously as I was now a wife and mother and wanted to teach my children the 'right things'. I tried and tried to DO it right, NOW I know that no amount of TRYING on my part can do anything. It is only the very life of Jesus himself that enables me to accomplish His purposes.
Knowing the Truth has truly set me free as the Bible, the Living Word, God Himself, states in John 8:36 "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." with that being said, I am now FREE INDEED! So much so, that I am actually able to share my life without fear in the hope that I can point the way for others to a better way, the ONLY way to life as it was meant to be, all for Jesus, to give glory to the Father, He created us for His own purpose, not for ours. I understand that I have a choice to make daily- My way or His way, choose life or death, I choose life. I can't nor do I want to go back to a life of being lost with no hope, floundering and flailing around helplessly, living by my feelings and not by blessed assurance. Oh, what joy fills my soul as I live for Jesus! Taste and see that the Lord is good!
Part of my journey has been to write down, or journal, some of my thoughts, questions, and/or concerns. When I began this process, it was with a book "the Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. At that time, I wanted God to help me be a wonderful doll artist so I could create really cool 'things' to make people happy and blessed. That prayer was actually answered and I have been creating really cool dolls for the past twenty years and they HAVE brought people much happiness. I am thankful to God for that. BUT, God also says "And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever." (1 John 2:17) Hmmmm, it's true. The 'things' of this world only bring fleeting joy and happiness. They do not offer a future or a hope, blessed assurance, or true life. As with all worldliness, it is a false hope and a weapon of the enemy as he tries to make us believe we can actually find happiness in anything other than Jesus, the one who saves us from sin and death.
And so, my priorities have changed, my life is not my own- it was purchased at Calvary when my Savior bled and died for every ugly thing I ever did or ever will do, He called me by name and took me out of bondage and made me a captive for Him. I delight to serve Him, it is not a burden but an honor, I am loved like I have NEVER been loved before! So this blog thing just happened to pop up on my desktop and I admit, it was the headline with it-'Get paid for every minute people spend enjoying your posts" that prompted me to write! Okay! I admit it! I rambled yesterday and thought it kinda fun. God in His gentle loving way this morning brought me to some of my old journal writings and showed me that they may be helpful to others out there! See how He works out His purposes?? It's not about me anymore! I tried to make it about me and He turned me right around and got me back on the narrow path that leads to life. So I will be sharing my writings with you in days to come. If I make money, goody! If I don't make money, it's fine with me as long as I am shining His light. He doesn't want us wandering around in the dark.
I am blessed to BE a blessing. His Word accomplishes what it sets out to do. My trust is in Him alone. Remember, His love is FREE! There is NO WAY to earn it, you just have to come and receive it as a gift, no questions asked. I know, it's hard cause we are such filth and don't deserve it, but He makes us over, way better than those TV makeovers! He is AMAZING!

Rambling Rose- the free version

Well, hey ~ What have I got to lose? Maybe I have FOUND what YOU are looking for!

Whatever, anyways, It seems I'm always signing up with some new blog or website or club, online shop, forum, or SOMETHING. I wind up spending all my time uploading cute profile pics and making my page look interesting and then wonder what to do next! I have gone from decorating my home a new and different way each week and making it nearly acceptable for a magazine feature- that's how 'amazingly wonderful and perfect' it was- Yes, I said WAS! Times, they have-a-changed. Now it's my aforementioned 'profile page' and dozens of internet sites that get the makeover while my house piles high with dust bunnies who just sit there, no, they don't even DO the dusting! If they're waiting for me, then those bunnies in their pretty little aprons not only will be re-dusted with more dust, but sprinkled with falling flour and sugar from the baking table, perhaps a few bread crumbs for a light snack so they can kick their way through the beautiful autumn leaves the wind has blown in when the door was left open and if it happened to be a rainy day when the leaves were too heavy laden with water to be freely blown and had to enter in by another route- on the bottom of a muddy, rain soaked shoe perhaps, one might think the water provided by Mother Nature would be enough to get those furry little critters awashin' the drips of coffee that fell overboard on a short journey from the coffeepot to the rocking chair...but NOOOOO! There they sit. Hmph!!!

Which brings to mind the words of the White Rabbit so terribly late for a very important date as he passes by bewildered Alice who has eaten the wrong thing and grown the wrong way..What to do?? What to do??? It all makes perfect sense if you think about it the right way but then who's to say who's right and who's wrong? As a man thinks in his heart so is he. If his heart is full of evil then of course it is evil that will spill forth from that man's heart into his mouth and over his tongue and finally through his lips or worse, his hands and feet- run, dust bunnies! BUT- if a man's heart is full of goodness- does it then not suffice to say that that man, or woman, whichever the case may be, out of the good man's heart will flow goodness and everything good and would it not follow that the law of sowing and reaping would be of the same effect? Were a man to plant weeds and thistles he would take care to water them, but oh wait!

Weeds seem to pop up in the most unwanted places even without water! For the most part weeds are a nuisance and unwanted indeed,at least in my garden as they hide the beauty of the rose with it's thorns that keep one at a distance so as not to cause it's beautiful petals to fall prematurely- oh that we could enjoy the rose with it's sweet fragrance and not be pricked by one we want so desperately to inhale the sweetness that comes from within! Ah, but what about the yellow field daisies I so desparately wanted to fill my yard with, they have no thorns!! Hooray! I shouted with glee when the field was in full bloom and I ran out to pick a basketful of gorgeous bright sunny yellow daisies to place in the center of my table in my beautifully decorated magazine worthy home, -well, nobody told me those lovely yellow daisies who are indeed glorious in their yellow fields with the wind swaying them as they give praise to their maker, and no thorns to defend themselves, they seemed harmless enough in their golden beauty...Cut them and put them in a vase?? in the house???? Never again I tell you! Yellow field daisies smell like mildew!! Ew! Yuk! It's bad enuf my dishcloth wears that perfume- I can't handle any more than that! Even the dust bunnies ran for cover! No more yellow field daisies! I do believe I'm feeling faint from the mere memory of it all, seems as though it's caused me to ramble on a bit.. so sorry! Gotta go now, I think it's time to feed the bunnies - they seem to be the only pets I can keep alive.

"I believe all good things start with a dream..." This was the introduction of a letter sent by Martha Campbell to Mr. Prescott, the Planning Manager for the City of Glendale in early 1989.  Did you know, the first retail shop that actually opened in what is now termed 'Catlin Court Historic District' was Glendale Cash Register, owned by Jim and Jean Burns, and in Sept. 1990, Country Maiden moved in. Papa Ed's Ice Cream Parlor opened for business in May, 2008 and the rest is history in the making.... Yes, our area has seen a lots of changes over time, yet the look and feel of our historic area remains. I dare say, Martha's dream has come true.. Often called one of the best historic districts in the nation, we love our old house and hope you enjoy your visits too. By the way, just last week, a young Ms. Burns was walking down memory lane with a friend. What fun Linda and I had in meeting past residents of this old house..

On the road again...

The creative journey is on an uphill climb! As it is with every creative mind, 'to everything there is a season'.

Through my daily prayers, God is showing me a new way. It is with great excitement I anticipate this pathway of adventure and I know it will be a beautiful ride. Our heavenly Father has a way of slowing us down, cleansing and renewing, if we will let Him.

For me, I have tried to do what I have always done, but alas!~ the old me is no longer! It's time to forget what lies behind and press on to a brighter future, all the while living in the present, enjoying each precious moment. I love to create and I will continue to create.
